Let's unpack that quote a bit to see how it connects with the VA Supervisor Team.

community of practitioners:  Yes... that is all about this team... You are practitioners, working alongside of your teams; making the mission happen each and every day.  A community is dependent upon each other to get the job done.  Our skills are many and varied... nobody is perfect and they don't have to be... because each of us has the other's back... and if someone falls short, the others pick up the slack.

working collaboratively:  This is a mouthful.  What does that really mean?  Author Art Costa called it  holonomy. a combination of the holos  (working for the good of the group) - - and the on - doing what is good for me.  
Finding the balance is the key.

create what they choose to create:  companies and businesses fool themselves into thinking that all employees work for clear vision;  one purpose. The truth is when workers get to create their own mission... and are given the power and authority to work towards that personal vision... well...  there can be no greater motivation.

2.  Read for 5-10 minutes from one of the articles and think about how it connects to our work.
3.  Watch Marcus Buckingham's presentation video and think about his message.
4.  The Flywheel:  Look at the handout from the March workshop and think about what is moving us forward.  
How are we beginning to create force and momentum toward becoming a stronger team?
